Choreographer Bill T. Jones and the Bill T. Jones / Arnie Zane Dance Company has received a commission from Chicago’s Ravinia Festival to create an evening-length work commemorating the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s birth for a Chicago premiere in September, 2009. As part of his creative process and due to longstanding relationships, Mr. Jones has proposed the University of Virginia and Charlottesville serve as one of four sites for his investigation of how Americans respond to Lincoln.
